“Nude #3” Eva Bertoglio, acrylic on canvas 2012.
“Stop asking questions! Manhattan Project!” Assemblage 2010. This piece was particularly difficult to photograph and show all the details. The title is what the lettering says. I read an Oppenheimer biography that led to this piece.
“Fetus” 2010, Acrylic on canvas. The photo has too much shine in it unfortunately but it’s the best I could get. This was during my series of animals inspired by native american painting and carving as well as myths.
Recent abstract figure I sold to a friend based on gesture drawings I’ve done.
“Symbolic self-portrait box”, found-object. Eva Bertoglio.
From a series of 21 ceramic masks I made. Raku-fired approximately 8” tall each. 1. Hot-Head 2. Beauty Queen 3. Butterfly Kissed 4. All-Seeing 5. Futurism
For my 100th post I’m re-posting my collage The Children Are Our Future and the Future is Not Human because I think it’s really representative of who I am as an artist. I’m definitely a tumblr novice but I really do try to produce a quality blog that is (hopefully) interesting enough as an art blog. Thank you to everyone who follows me I love you all!
More arabesques from my pen and ink series!
“SuperFutureHero” Mixed media on paper. 8” Going through my past collages for inspiration now that I have a new commission to work on!
Arabesque #1, #2, #11, #3, #15. Pen and ink on paper. My series of drawings loosely inspired by Islamic art, all free-hand and playing with natural asymmetry/symmetry.
My pieces that are featured in University of Oregon’s online lit and arts journal! I’m so pleased to have been accepted and see my collages and ceramic piece in print.

I’m working on some new sculptural paintings. They’ll be different but still in the same vein as my “Synesthesia” series above. It will take awhile for me to resolve my interest in 2D meets 3D, possibly forever :)

There are three of my historical collages on canvas. I’m really inspired by historical events. I want to do another series of historical collages soon. I found my recent early modern Europe/Ottoman Empire class to be a great source of ideas due to my 20+ Arabesque drawing series :)

Collage and oil paint on canvas. 11”x14”. Original Eva Bertoglio.
One of my favorite early collages, called The Children are Our Future and the Future is Not Human. I was inspired by faeries and science fiction. There’s a great short story by Francesca Lia Block that I read a couple years after I made the piece that I think relates a lot called Changelings from her book Blood Roses.
